Ways To Give
Gifts to Northwest Florida State College should be send to the Northwest Florida State
College Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization as designated by the Internal
Revenue Service. Donations to the Northwest Florida State College Foundation are tax
deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Gifts of Cash
This is the simplest way to give. Checks should be made payable to the Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) Foundation and will be placed in a fund as directed by the donor. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are also accepted. Cash gifts may be made online on our secure website or mailed to our office at 100 College Boulevard, Niceville, FL 32578.
Gifts of Securities and Property
The Northwest Florida State College Foundation can accept publicly traded securities, closely held securities, tangible personal property, and real estate gifts. Under most circumstances, these gifts will be sold upon receipt so that donors' philanthropic visions can be realized quickly. However, these gifts must be reviewed by the Finance and Investment Committee prior to acceptance. Please see our gift acceptance policy for more information.
Many generous non-cash contributions are valuable to our institution. If you have
a non-cash, in-kind contribution, please contact the Foundation or the appropriate
department chair to determine if Northwest Florida State College can accept your gift.
The in-kind donation form must be completed by the donor and signed for by the department chair or Foundation staff representative at the time your gift is received and accepted. The staff verification, found under the "FOR OFFICE USE ONLY" section acknowledges that your contribution has been received by the appropriate department. The completed form (with signatures) should be routed to the Foundation office via email/mail within 24 hours by college staff so the gift can be properly recorded and the asset documented. This will allow the Foundation to provide the donor a thank you note along with the completed in-kind donation form verifying the gift for tax purposes. In-kind gifts unaccompanied by the in-kind donation form will not be acknowledged as a charitable gift.
Thoughtful estate and gift planning can benefit you, your family and Northwest Florida State College. Planned gifts name the Northwest Florida State College Foundation as a beneficiary in a bequest, life insurance policy, or charitable remainder trust, to name a few. With your legal, financial and tax advisors, we can help you create a plan that suits your personal circumstances. Planned gifts may be recognized through the Foundation's Legacy Society.
Many companies set aside special funds each year to match contributions their employees make to qualified non-profit organizations. Most often, the companies match contributions dollar for dollar, but matches can vary. Check your company's matching guidelines to increase the impact of your personal contribution.
