NICEVILLE, FL — Newman-Dailey Resort Properties has gifted Northwest Florida State College with $15,000 to establish the Newman-Dailey Resort Properties Fund. This gift comes at the perfect time with the launch of NWF State College’s Hospitality and Tourism Management program. The Newman-Dailey Resort Properties Fund will help ensure a program of excellence to meet local workforce needs and will be used to support the hospitality simulation room, which will include a front desk with operations equipment and industry recognized software as well as a hotel lab furnished with a bed, chair, mirror, bathroom, and other furniture fixture and equipment items typical in a hotel room setting.

The Hospitality and Tourism Management program prepares students for employment in the hospitality industry and provides supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. The hospitality industry as addressed in this program includes the hotel, resort, bed and breakfast, club, marina, event management, restaurant, and other lodging organizations. Students will also receive training in communications, leadership and human relations skills. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills with an emphasis on front of the house skills for the hospitality and restaurant industry.
