2016 Rising Star Award Recipient

Jessica Tuznik was born into a military family and spent much of her life traveling from base to base, but settled in Niceville where she graduated from Niceville High School in 2001. She went on to graduate from Florida State University with honors, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority in which she served as Vice President, Chair of the Scholarship Committee and Chair of the Philanthropy Committee. She returned home after graduation and worked at a real estate firm, but eventually decided it was time to pull out an old nursing dream she had placed on the back burner and apply to Northwest Florida State College’s Nursing Program. With the help of the Le Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux Nursing Scholarship, she received her Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ASN) in 2011 and Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) in 2012.  She currently works at Eglin Air Force Base’s Flight Medicine Clinic (under the 96th Medical Group) as an Occupational Health Nurse.  “NWF is a high-impact college and should be recognized as such,” Jessica believes.
