The Association of Florida Colleges Northwest Florida State College Chapter has pledged $15,000 to establish the AFC/Terry Comeau Endowed Scholarship in honor of NWFSC employee Terry Comeau. The AFC/Terry Comeau Scholarship Endowment will be used to provide scholarship support for a Northwest Florida State College student.
The Association of Florida Colleges Inc. (AFC), is the professional association of Florida’s 28 public member institutions of the Florida College System. The mission of AFC is to actively promote, represent and support members and institutions as they provide their students and the citizens of Florida with a world-class college system. Since 1990, the NWFSC Chapter of AFC has invested over $95,000 in NWFSC students through their established scholarship endowments.
Copy Services Manager, Terry Comeau, began her career at Northwest Florida State College in August of 1988. Throughout her thirty-one-year career, she has been relied upon and respected for her expertise in print and graphics. In her previous role as Graphic Services Manager, her team entered many Communications & Marketing Commission Awards, earning numerous first, second and third place awards for marketing materials.
Terry’s association with AFC began the same month she joined the College. During her tenure, she held leadership positions, including Chapter President, and in 2009 she was recognized with the Region I Lifesaver Award and the Unsung Hero Award. Terry also created and chaired the annual Northwest Florida Fundraising Duck Race and served for many years as the concession manager and co-manager, earning her the NWFSC Chapter 2010 Unsung Hero Award.
“The AFC Chapter of NWFSC’s gift shows a commitment to the College that goes beyond the workplace,” said Dr. Devin Stephenson, president of NWFSC. “Their decision to honor long-time employee Terry Comeau is a testament to her dedication and outstanding service to the institution.”
