Incorporated in 1964 by William G. Yates Jr., Yates Construction has steadily grown to become one of the top commercial and industrial construction companies in the nation. Yates, whose personal mantra—“bigger than me”—built the family business to outlast himself. Today, the family-owned business boasts 10,000 employees, twenty-five offices in nine states and projects in Russia, China, Mexico, and Canada in addition to 40-plus states. With a strong sense of obligation to be good community stewards, Yates Construction provides scholarships for students in communities where they work.
The Yates Construction Scholarship has been created to support Northwest Florida State College students who have completed the first year of the Welding Technology Program. Scholarships will be awarded to five students who exhibit Yates Construction core values: Safety, Integrity, Passion and Commitment.
